Overview

This 3-day Instructor-led program is a customized workshop for Cisco and Cisco Channel Partners that work with Enterprise-level customers. With more Enterprise-level companies adopting "The Open Group's Architecture Forum" (TOGAF) standards for Enterprise Architecture, it is becoming increasingly important for Cisco and its Channel Partners to hold the TOGAF Foundation Certification. This certification will signal to Enterprise-level customers that Cisco personnel have base-level knowledge of the standards for Enterprise Architecture that is in use.

Certification to TOGAF 9 Foundation provides validation that the Candidate has knowledge sufficient to be able to contribute to an architecture effort or to work with the results of an architecture effort. It also validates an understanding of: knowledge of the terminology; structure and basic concepts of TOGAF 9; and the core principles of Enterprise Architecture and TOGAF. The learning objectives at this level focus on knowledge and comprehension.

The next level of TOGAF certification, TOGAF Certified, extends the measurement to analyzing and applying TOGAF 9. Significant portions cover governance, the range of architecture deliverables produced, and development of an enterprise architecture capability. Unless you are from the Enterprise implementing the architecture capability or being presented as an Enterprise Architect there is no need to pursue this certification. However, there is real value in practical application of process, deliverables and terminology. It provides the understanding required to ask the right questions, know when and where to plug into the process, etc. The third day of training will provide the participant with the right amount of knowledge to get the job done.
