Understanding Differences

Working More Effectively With Others

Course Description

We each have a unique personality. The mixing of personalities in the workplace can be cause for great creativity or for great frustration. Part of our personality is how we think, how we gather information and how we make decisions. Understanding the different approaches to these vital functions can allow us to take advantage of the differences rather than let the differences slow us down.

This Understanding Differences session is designed to clarify the four Temperament patterns to help participants determine their own primary temperament and to understand other’s patterns. Participants will explore the different needs and motivators of each unique personality style as a way to understand and sort among the different patterns. Prior to the session, participants will complete a self-assessment online. The results will be provided in the workshop as one piece of input to the process of determining their best Temperament fit. Group activities and exercises during the session will highlight the differences in temperament patterns and group discussion will provide ideas on how to work well with those of a different temperament. Participants will get to know one another better which will enhance their relationships.
