Listening is the most frequently mentioned critical employment skill by companies. That may be because listening is the foundation for many other multi-faceted skills such as selling, negotiating, and supervising. Most of us spend at least 45% of our day listening - but many of us don't do it skillfully.
This Proactive Listening session is designed to help participants identify the need for better listening skills and then to learn techniques to improve their skills. A self-assessment as well as group activities and exercises during the session will highlight the need to enhance listening skills. The listening model of "Staying Focused, Capturing the Message and Helping the Speaker" will provide a framework and specific tips for skill development.
