Increasing Your Effectiveness

Course Description

Understanding the values that drive teamwork behavior and using effective strategies to lead individuals to work with others are critical skills for leaders today. Knowing how others see your skills at leading can be critical information to help leaders adjust to be more effective.

This Leadership Excellence workshop is a follow on to the Coaching Excellence workshop. (It can also be delivered as a two-day workshop incorporating both one-day workshops.) This workshop also uses the SYMLOG instrument that measures value for teamwork. Participants will receive SYMLOG data on their leadership and teamwork effectiveness based on input from the people they lead. Analysis of their individual data will provide participants clarity on their leadership style. Experiential activities, journaling, sharing of data, and coaching all contribute to an overall growth experience which leads to effective action planning.

Learning Objectives

As a result of successful completion of this one-day workshop participants are expected to:

• Understand their motivation for leadership and teamwork.
• Recognize how others see their teamwork values and leadership approach.
• Use teamwork values to lead individuals and teams more effectively.
• Use a value-based strategy for well-balanced leadership.
• Implement an action plan to improve their effectiveness as a leader.
