Course Content

Designing Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Solutions, v1.0 (DMPS) is a 3-day instructor-led training course that will prepare the learner for designing a customer on-premise Cisco Unified MeetingPlace 7.0 solution. This course presents various design options including the evaluation of a pre-existing IP Telephony infrastructure, identifies MeetingPlace integration with existing customer applications, and describes the requirements of voice/video and web conferencing. Given these requirements, you will be prepared to design a highly-available comprehensive Cisco Unified MeetingPlace solution, using typical customer scenarios and Case Studies to provide practical experience.

Course Objectives

To provide learners with skills to successfully design Cisco’s rich-media conferencing solution appropriate for integration into a customer enterprise network, you will be able to:

• Explain the hardware and software components available in the MeetingPlace 7.0 solution and describe the interaction between all of the components
• Identify MeetingPlace features, capacities and requirements to consider when planning an on-premise integrated conferencing solution
• Identify customer conferencing and user implementation requirements to consider when planning a MeetingPlace deployment
• Evaluate essential customer network and application functionality prior to developing an implementation strategy
• Develop a highly available, comprehensive MeetingPlace deployment plan, given specific customer environments and requirements

Who Should Attend

This course is intended for pre-sales engineers and customer IT staff responsible for designing and providing post installation support for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace 7.0 in enterprise networks.

Attendees should have the following skills:

• Working knowledge of converged voice and data networks
• Working knowledge of SIP, MGCP, and H.323 protocols and their implementation on Cisco IOS gateways
• Working knowledge of video - Cisco Unified Video Conferencing - basics
  Suggested training – Implementing Cisco IP Video Conference Rich Media Communications (ICRMC)
• Ability to configure and operate Cisco Unified Communication Manager
  Suggested training – Implementing Cisco Unified Communication Manager, Part 1 (CIPT1)

Recommended Prerequisites

Attendees should have hands-on experience with MeetingPlace from having attended the following on-line courses:

• CMBU - Cisco MeetingPlace Basic User (90-minute, Web-based)
• CMAD - Cisco MeetingPlace System Administrator (90-minute, Web-based)
