Cisco MeetingPlace Directory Services Implementation

Course Content

This training session is a one and one-half day remote instructor led with remote labs technical course that provides in-depth understanding of the installation, configuration and troubleshooting skills required to install the Cisco MeetingPlace Directory Services 5.3 product. This course focuses on MeetingPlace audio server profile management automation and integration into a customer Microsoft Active Directory, Sun iPlanet/Netcsape and/or Cisco CallManager directory environment. The configuration and troubleshooting of common integrations use hands-on lab exercises to reinforce your knowledge. Cisco MeetingPlace Directory Services is an optional product component of a total Cisco MeetingPlace rich-media solution.

Course Objectives

After completing this course the student should be able to:

• Describe LDAP directory functions and System Administration operations
• Describe the MeetingPlace Directory Services functions, processes and file structure
• Install and configure the MeetingPlace Directory Services integration with the following scenarios:
  • Microsoft Active Directory Customer Integration
  • Cisco CallManager Integration
• Install and configure MeetingPlace Directory Services Metalinks to LDAP Databases and to MeetingPlace 8100 Audio Servers that meet specific customer requirements
• Configure various scenarios of customer LDAP mapping rules for MPDS
• Troubleshoot Cisco MeetingPlace Directory Services integration based on the two types of integrations and specific Metalink scenarios

Who Should Attend

This course is intended for technical engineers and personnel responsible for installing, troubleshooting and providing support for MeetingPlace in Enterprise networks.

Recommended Prerequisites:

Your sponsor organization must hold a Cisco IP Communications Specialized Certification before prospective students can enroll in this course. Attendees should have completed the self-paced Cisco MeetingPlace Product Overview course and have hands-on experience with Cisco MeetingPlace from having attended the following classroom course:

Cisco MeetingPlace Installation and Maintenance (CMIM) (5 Days ILT, hands-on lab)

Optional:
Understanding LDAP - Microsoft Training is an additional recommendation if you have never had any experience with Microsoft Active Directory integration prior to this course.
