This lab intensive course will provide valuable skills that will enable you to be more effective in your day-to-day interaction with Cisco networks. The course focuses on the Cisco Internetworking Operating System (IOS) commands used to configure and test small networks based upon Cisco networking products. This training session expands on those core networking concepts and applies those key concepts to building and maintaining a small business or home network that includes Windows-based PCs. You will learn how to troubleshoot network functionality and how to gather important information prior to involving an ISP or escalation team to resolve Internet connectivity issues.
The course, containing a 50-50 balance of lecture and hands-on activities, is designed to provide students with ample opportunity to:
• Conduct labs and perform exercises
• Practice key procedures in a controlled, non-production, lab environment
This approach ensures that critical concepts are properly reinforced before the learner must apply these concepts in their job tasks.
Upon completion of this course, participants will gain proficiency in communicating with data networking technical staff. Utilizing the skills learned in this course, participants will be able to install, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot a small business or home network based upon Cisco products. You will be able to:
• Connect devices to create a simple network
• Configure network devices
• Upgrade IOS images on Cisco devices
• Verify network device connectivity
