Course Content

This training session is a five-day instructor led technical course that provides in-depth understanding of the functional components of the Cisco MeetingPlace product. This course focuses on basic, and all optional, deployments including integration into a customer enterprise network. This course will familiarize you with the inter-communication of key system components including terminology, concepts and core protocol functionality. You will also become familiar with Cisco's MeetingPlace conferencing server platforms including hardware, software component functionality, system installation and configuration, troubleshooting, monitoring and debug, using hands-on lab exercises to reinforce your knowledge.

Course Objectives

After completing this course the student should be able to:

• Describe the MeetingPlace system architecture and the interaction between the voice/web/video system components
• Identify the supported MeetingPlace design topologies and describe the characteristics of each design
• Use command line interface commands to determine a MeetingPlace system's operational state
• Identify the processes associated with the MeetingPlace application and explain the functionality of each processList the characteristics of the different MeetingPlace audio conference server platforms
• List the characteristics of the different MeetingPlace audio/web/video conferencing servers and gateways
• Identify the capabilities of the communication interfaces available for MeetingPlace servers
• Analyze reports and system output displays to identify key fields available to assist in problem resolution
• Explain the message exchange between system components during an attendee Join Request
• Demonstrate success in troubleshooting level-one MeetingPlace system problemsIdentify the capabilities of the communication interfaces available for MeetingPlace servers

Who Should Attend

This course is intended for installation engineers and personnel responsible for troubleshooting and providing first level support for MeetingPlace in enterprise networks.

Recommended Prerequisites

Your sponsor organization must hold a Cisco IP Communications Specialized Certification before prospective students can enroll in this course. Attendees should have completed the self-paced Cisco MeetingPlace Product Overview course and have hands-on experience with Cisco MeetingPlace from having attended the following online courses:

• CMBU - Cisco MeetingPlace Basic User (90-minute, web-based, instructor-led training)
• CMAD - Cisco MeetingPlace System Administrator (90-minute, web-based, instructor-led training)
